Statement – Celebrating Black History Month 2024
News
Black History Month is a time to celebrate the achievements and contributions of Black Canadians and their communities. This year’s theme “Black Excellence: A Heritage to Celebrate; a Future to Build” is an opportunity to learn more about the stories Black communities in Canada have to tell.
At Cuso International, inclusion is foundational to our commitment to anti-racism, along with feminist principles, diversity, and equality in our programs and our workplace.
Whether it’s support for the creation of thriving local businesses, improving food security with sustainable farming, or girls graduating high school and pursuing more education, we are honoured to be part of collaborative efforts to create a more equitable, prosperous, and sustainable future together.
This month, and every month, let’s pay special attention to the diversity of voices in the Black community that inspire us to do and be better, here in Canada and around the world.
Learn more about Canada’s rich Black history, how it shapes Canada’s identity, and how you can engage with it.
