Enabling an Equal World for Indigenous Women in the Time of Climate Crisis
News
March is often celebrated as International Womenâs Month with March 8 officially declared as International Womenâs Day to shine the light on the different issues and inequalities women around the world face. This yearâs theme is aptly described as âAn equal world is an enabled worldâ, a fitting line to describe the various inequalities that women experience around the world and the need for us to acknowledge and work towards dismantling the structures of inequalities that exist.
Cuso International and the Asian Indigenous Peoplesâ Pact (AIPP), held a three-day conference in Bangkok, Thailand which gathered the various stakeholders to hear the voices of Indigenous Women themselves affected by climate change. The three-day event gave Indigenous Women an opportunity to share their expertise and to make their voices heard with regional and national government representatives and other key stakeholders.
