CUSO INTERNATIONAL WELCOMES THE GOVERNMENT OF CANADA’S INVESTMENT IN YOUTH
News
Ottawa, Canada – Cuso International welcomes today’s announcement by the Honourable Christian Paradis, Minister of International Development and La Francophonie, of the Canadian government’s support for the International Youth Internship Program (IYIP).
Cuso International’s Securing Sustainable Futures for Youth & Communities IYIP initiative is a two-year project that will support 40 volunteers in nine countries. Youth volunteer placements will focus on stimulating sustainable economic growth, increasing food security and securing the future of children and youth. Gender equality, environmental protection, and good governance will be integrated into all placements. The initiative will capitalize on the power of youth-to-youth interaction, enthusiasm and collaboration.
The International Youth Internship Program (IYIP) is part of the Government of Canada’s Youth Employment Strategy, which provides Canadian youth with tools and experience they need to launch successful careers.
