Cuso International Welcomes Anna Squier as Head of Programs for Africa

July 26, 2021, Ottawa, ON– Cuso International is pleased to announce Anna Squier as our new Head of Programs for Africa. Anna brings more than 14 years of experience in conflict prevention and peacebuilding to Cuso International, along with 11 years of field experience in non-profits in Africa and the Caribbean.

In this position, Anna will lead the development and implementation of high impact programs in Cuso International’s six focus countries in Africa. As Head of Programming, she will be responsible for maintaining a high profile for Cuso in the international development sector and fostering relationships with the government, private sector, and donors. Anna comes to Cuso after serving over three years as the Burundi Country Representative for Interpeace where she managed and implemented national programming. She has also worked with several international NGOs including the Zoological Society of London and Radio La Benevolencija Humanitarian Tools Foundation. From 2012 to 2013, Anna volunteered with Cuso as a Policy and Development Advisor in Jamaica

Anna holds a Masters of Arts in Human Security and Peacebuilding from Royal Roads University in Victoria, B.C. and a certificate in Conflict Resolution from the Justice Institute of British Colombia.

Anna is currently based in Nairobi, Kenya and will be working in close collaboration with colleagues across Africa. She will officially begin her position on July 26th , 2021.
