Communiqué: Update on Tanzania
News
November 2025
Cuso International confirms that our team in Tanzania, including staff and volunteers, are safe following recent unrest linked to the post-election period. While communications have been restored, this remains uncertain as tensions continue across the country.
Our local leadership team remains vigilant and continues to take precautionary measures to ensure the safety and well-being of all members on the ground.
The president has been sworn in and has called for peace. While conditions remain tense, we are grateful for the preparedness and resilience of our team and volunteers.
Cuso International continues to coordinate closely with our network of partners in Tanzania. The Foreign Ministers of Canada, Norway, and the United Kingdom have expressed concern over the situation, urging restraint, respect for freedom of assembly and expression, and adherence to international commitments.
We will continue to monitor the situation and stay in contact with our team and partners on the ground.
