Join Us for a Knowledge-Sharing Event at Ramada Addis on February 5, 2025

Addis Ababa, Ethiopia – Cuso International Ethiopia is pleased to invite partners, stakeholders, and the public to a special knowledge-sharing event in celebration of Canada’s International Development Week 2025 (IDW 2025) under the theme “Building a Better World Together.” The event will take place on Wednesday, February 5, 2025, at the Ramada Addis.

This event will highlight the impactful work of Cuso International’s SHARE project and its collaboration with local partners to advance gender equality and economic empowerment. Cuso Ethiopia is bringing together two SHARE partner organizations, Men Engage Ethiopia Network and Hiwot Ethiopia, for a dynamic discussion and knowledge-sharing session.

Event Highlights

  • Showcasing Gender Equality Initiatives – Learn about the critical work of Men Engage Ethiopia in advancing gender equality, with participation from Network members and parliamentary representatives.
  • Empowering Young Women Through Economic Livelihood Skills – A special segment will focus on the Cuso Special Project Fund, which was awarded to Hiwot Ethiopia. They have provided young women with valuable training through TVET (Technical and Vocational Education and Training) and coaching programs.
  • Graduation Ceremony – The event will conclude with a graduation ceremony for participants who have successfully completed their training, marking a significant milestone in their journey toward economic independence.

About the SHARE Project

Funded by Global Affairs Canada, the SHARE project is designed to improve the economic and social well-being of the most marginalized and vulnerable communities, particularly women and girls. Cuso International works across ten countries in Latin America, the Caribbean, and Sub-Saharan Africa, fostering partnerships with government bodies, private sector stakeholders, academic institutions, and local organizations to drive sustainable development.

In Ethiopia, the SHARE project has made a significant impact since its inception in 2020:

  • Collaborated with 13 local partners, including government organizations, community-based organizations (CBOs), and international NGOs.
  • Deployed 14 e-volunteers, 4 national volunteers, and 10 international volunteers to strengthen capacity-building efforts.
  • Positively impacted over 10,000 participants through training, skills development, and knowledge-sharing programs.

Cuso International is committed to its ecosystem approach, ensuring programming effectiveness, sustainability, and alignment with Canada’s Feminist International Assistance Policy, which emphasizes gender equality and the empowerment of women and girls as the most effective means of fostering peace, inclusivity, and prosperity.
