OTTAWA — Cuso International is pleased to announce its membership to the Association Québécoise des Organismes de Coopération Internationale (AQOCI), an organization that brings together 66 sustainable and human development organizations from 13 regions in Quebec. AQOCI’s mission is to promote and support the work and initiatives of its members in favour of international solidarity.

“We are very happy to be a member organization of AQOCI,” said Glenn Mifflin, CEO of Cuso International. “Its principles and values correspond to Cuso International’s mission to reduce poverty and inequality around the world. As a member of AQOCI, we intend to join our voice with those of other international cooperation organizations in Quebec to promote the Canadian and Quebec governments’ commitment to international assistance and to actively participate in AQOCI’s various working groups.”

Cuso International is one of Quebec’s leaders in the international development sector. Over the past 10 years, Cuso International has enabled more than 500 volunteers from Quebec to gain valuable international experience and contribute to building a world based on the principles of justice, inclusion, equality and respect for human rights. This has enabled Quebec to showcase its high-level expertise in some 20 developing countries.

“Our association with AQOCI will allow Cuso International to consolidate and leverage its long-term presence in Quebec,” said Mifflin. “We look forward to working with AQOCI and its member organizations to support inclusive, just and sustainable human development around the world.”
