About E-Volunteering

Cuso International’s e-volunteering program welcomes new and returning volunteers to work with our international program partners and volunteers remotely. E-volunteering offers many of the benefits gained from international volunteering, while having the extra advantage of fitting into one's regular weekly schedule without needing a passport. Contributing and giving back to a community, gaining new skills, and making new connections are common benefits of e-volunteering and for Cuso International it is a great opportunity to engage more people in its mission.

E-Volunteers are expected to supply their own basic home office equipment, Internet and have a moderate knowledge of computer technology. Some of our partners are located in remote areas with unreliable internet connection. Consequently, it is reasonable to assume that when working with the partners, emails will not be responded to immediately. For most of our partners, this is their first experience working with e-volunteers and flexibility and patience is a valuable e-volunteer characteristic.

The E-Volunteer’s Role

We are looking for a creative individual who is passionate about representing information through graphic design.

As an Infographics Designer e-volunteer, you will work with the Cuso International Jamaica and Guyana Country Program Offices (CPOs) to create communication and marketing portfolio materials. These infographics will incorporate 1) mapping of volunteer activities and program impact, and 2) branding at a regional level.

Cuso International works to reduce poverty and inequality in developing countries. As we carry out our work with local partner organizations, it is important that we communicate the impact of our work at a regional level with stakeholders. To accomplish this, the Jamaica and Guyana CPOs want to capture and use infographics to display the results of our volunteer activities. This will demonstrate impact and help engage donors and stakeholders.

In addition, these materials will showcase the skill set of our volunteers which will be used to demonstrate to stakeholders the capacity of our volunteers. The Infographics Designer would also work on creating materials that showcase the work carried out by our volunteers and local partners organizations in other Caribbean countries.

As an e-volunteer, you will:

- Create an infographic that captures work done in other Caribbean countries (Belize, Dominica, Grenada, St. Lucia).

- Using infographics, create one impact mapping document that captures the work of the Jamaica and Guyana Program Offices for the year 2017-18.

- Create two infographics (one for each program office) that captures the profiles of Cuso volunteers. This design will be shared in introductory meetings and with other stakeholders as part of Cuso’s Caribbean Communication Portfolio.

Essential Academic Qualifications:

-A degree in Communications, Marketing, Design, Branding, Multi-Media.

Essential Professional Background:

-Graphic design experience with an emphasis on informational graphic design. Samples of your work will be request.
-Experience working on marketing, branding and/or communication activities.
-Ability to review reports and extract highlights.
