Project Rational:
Cuso International works in partnership with different government, private sector and CBOs. Our primary development input is international volunteer experts to support partners achieve their mandates through skill development. But our partners place more value on financial assistance and as a result, it is difficult to strike a balance between the two. Our country program office (CPO) in Ethiopia is interested in developing a methodology for determining whether it is more advantageous in the development sector to provide funding or training (volunteer support). At which point should NGOs intervene?

Project Objectives:
A group of 4-5 student researchers will conduct a pros and cons assessment between the various development management models. Time permitting, you will collaborate with the CPO to determine the approach that will be responsive to the needs of different partner's interest, and the CPO will implement the approaches with evidence of the merit.
