Forging partnerships among and between different NGOs / CBOs and/or professional associations is a priority to deliver impactfull development interventions. In Ethiopia, NGOs networking is primarily organized based on their country of origin, e.g. NGOs supported by USAID, Canadian NGO supported by GAC (CANGO); European-based NGOs supported by UKAID and /or EU (BINGO) etc. There is no organized contact details or database that presents the profile of different development organizations functioning in Ethiopia. This makes it very challenging to resource constrained organizations to identify and create networking with potential partner organizations that work in similar development programs. Creating a database for NGOs, research institutions and donors that are operating in Ethiopia will be very helpful for small /medium-evel NGOs' use.
This project would be a good fit for a group of 5-6 students and students could divide the work according to differnet thematic areas. The project deliverables would include an Excel database to organize information about i) different development actors operating in Ethiopia with relevant details of their track of records / impact of their services, etc. and ii) contact details for key development actors in areas of Gender, Environment and ISEG.
