Follow The Feminist In Africa

Length of Placement 1 Semester
To help build the evidence base for Cuso International’s work on gender equality in Africa, researchers will map the history of the feminist movement in the countries in which we work focusing on: i) History of the movement with a focus on individual organizations, ii) Policies, iii) Calls for action and iv) Funding success and challenges.
The research will focus on: How can Cuso International show solidarity? What type of programs could Cuso develop to support feminist organizations in Africa at the national, regional, international, and virtual levels.
Larger classrooms may consider dividing into groups by country (Benin, Cameroon, DRC, Ethiopia, Nigeria, and Tanzania) or smaller classroom may consider selecting one country in which to focus. Classrooms who select to work with Benin, Cameroon and/or the DRC must be fully fluent in French.
