Cuso International CEO Derek Evans has announced he is stepping down after six highly successful years heading the organization and following his key role in the development of a new strategic plan.

According to Cameron Charlebois, immediate past chair of the board, “The new Strategic Outlook adopted in June of this year propels Cuso International into an exciting and promising future of greater impact improving lives – both in Canada and around the world.  Derek has advised the Board that this is an ideal occasion to renew Cuso International’s leadership.”

The Hon. Lloyd Axworthy, current Chair of Cuso International’s Board of Directors said: “Finding the right successor to Derek Evans will be a challenge.  In many ways Derek is founding CEO of the new Cuso International and he has built a strong, innovative and forward-looking development organization. We are grateful for his contributions, service and leadership.”

To help ensure a successful transition, Derek will be assisting the Board with the search process and will also remain in the role until a new CEO is appointed.
