Cuso International volunteers work to deliver health and social services, address causes of ill health such as sanitation and water supply, promote health education, and tackle HIV/AIDS.
We do this because healthy people are better able to work, learn, take care of their families, and fully participate in their community’s development.
In 2011-12, we supported 50 volunteers and 36 partner groups working on health programs in 11 countries.
Here is a story about a volunteer who worked in health in Malawi:
Dr Hale found herself the only doctor at a hospital that served a population of over half-a-million. In addition to emergencies, she was able to introduce new life-saving preventative medicine measures.
