Cuso International volunteers help promote independence for people with disabilities and their families through education, living skills, mobility assistance and employment training.
We do this because while disability is often seen as a health issue, discrimination also affects the ability of people with disabilities to participate in society and earn a living.
In 2011-12, we supported 34 volunteers and 28 partner groups working on disability programs in 9 countries.
Here is a story on a volunteer who worked in the disability area in Ghana:
An American volunteer ventures to Ghana with Cuso International to help students with disabilities unlock their potential through education..
