The 1st Cuso Int’l Team in the Blue Nose Marathon was a huge success with 11 participants raising $4100 from 101 sponsors. The event was such a success the team aims to join again next year.
Congratulations to all who participated and many thanks to all who generously donated.
Kimberley Buyers (Returned volunteer, Jamaica) generously donated her time as team captain rallying friends, family, staff and members of the local volunteers for the world committee. Thanks, Kim!
Kim, Team Captain, reports:
"Fabulous weather and a fantastic turnout made for a great Blue Nose race weekend in beautiful Halifax NS. Thanks to the hard work from our 11 team members, we were able to raise $4100 to support Cuso International's work! It was a tough course through Halifax's infamous hilly terrain, but we made it!
Everyone was amazing! The race provided the perfect excuse to connect with Cuso people here in NS and also to talk with others about what Cuso does. For example, I had several people start talking to me at the starting line because of the Cuso sign on my back - so it served its purpose, which was really rewarding!I would definitely recommend getting involved in Cuso's Running for the World. It is not only a great way to let people know about Cuso International, but it is a fun way to engage people in international development issues. I will definitely be running again!"
